The Gutter inbox is perennially clogged with missives unfit to print. But when we receive something this splenetically deranged, this wierdly nuanced, this, well, long, we feel we must share:

Is this confirmation that Google has jumped the shark? Why is it so very disturbing and not pleasing to see this transformation to the otherwise soothing google logo. It's okay when they add little snowmen for the o's for the holidays, but something about this is wrong. I guess it's FLW's fucking birthday or something. Not that I don't love the Prairie School as much as the next citizen of the Homeland, BUT: of all the architects Google could celebrate: why not Buckminster Fuller, with geodesic letter o's, an architect who actually gave a fuck about electronic networks, an architect who probably knew what a googolpex was? How about Kiesler, Eames, or even Bruce Goff if you want something made of wood. Shouldn’t information architects be into architects born in, say, the 20th century? It's a bit like Gates building his house in some kind of shingle style historicist bullshit style, but with plasma screens, on that lake in seattle, wherever it is. Telling people you're an architect and having them say they like Frank Lloyd Wright is like telling them you're a novelist and being told they like Steinbeck. It's like, um, okay... The only thing worse is people still asking you what you think of Bilbao.
