Congratulations, all. We have just survived nearly a month without even a morsel of WTC-site stupidity and now our fast is at an end. The crack editorial team at Architectural Record—the same, we hear through our esteemed publisher, that is even now drafting yet another Gutter exposé—brings to us the happy news: a group of end-gaming Twin Towers fanatics (check the revamped site!) has announced a design competition for...Well, this is where it gets a little awkward. Um, yeah: they're gonna go ahead and ask for the towers pretty much just like they were. Same loft, same width, same heft. And, yes, same hype. In the immortal words of the group's executive director:

As you prepare your design, remember always that what you create is not just about New York, or even America; it’s about the future of the world and whether that future is bright or dark, and whether our children live free or die bloody.

It's up to you.
