The Gutter

Broken Record: Dept. of Corrections
Friday, August 5, 2005

0508Cover.jpgOnce again our colleagues have taken a shot at us, and once again corrections are in order—though, have no fear, we emerge utterly, gloriously unscathed. In fact, we rather enjoyed the fellating we received yesterday from Architectural Record—though, as with the quilt hunters at House & Home, concern for editorial propriety kept them from relaying the true blue genius of this scroll. Tant pis; we still get to set them straight. Inaccuracies repaired, lies mended, in the order that they appear:

· Paragraph 1. This site began its eyes-averted tracking of events on April 25, not May 9.
· Paragraph 2, top. That's Guttersniper with a big old G, thank you.
· Paragraph 2, middle. Should read, "whom the sniper calls 'Big Nic.'"
· Paragraph 3. Everything in this graf is wrong. Everything! (No, really: everything.)
· Paragraph 5, middle. Deep Throat name check a few weeks too late to be funny.
· Paragraph 5, bottom. Still hunting The Gutter? Yawn.

That mystery has been solved. Fred Bernstein—sometimes Gutter correspondent, sometimes scandal-plagued Gutter victim—wrote in recently with his pet theory. And guess what? He's right! Off with the mask and cape. We are Jeff Kipnis.
