A special Gutter Reader Reax Award goes to the instantly beloved CAD-jockey who, when he saw this post, instantly sent the following:

Gutter,

As an avid reader, I know you are always on the look out for malfeasance of all kinds, both criminal and architectural. I think we can all agree that spelling out anything, anything, with truss members (besides being criminally inefficient) is most certainly the latter. In most cases, it is also the former. In attempting to "brand" the city of Atlanta, Arquitectonica bestowed on the city the gift of its own name in truss-form on the larger than life Phillips Arena.

The image speaks a thousand words. Wait, no, it only speak one: A-T-L-A-N-T-A

As you pointed out in your post (and should have been pointed out to Arquitectonica in the conceptual stage of this building)—nothing new here. But it should be noted that Rem himself has made a buck or two by putting hot-lanta in his cross hairs—maybe in her obsession with him (and surely she can be forgiven, who hasn't pilfered from this man?), Liz is picking clean all his references.

Keep Snipin'
