Moss to Chen: Have You No Shame?
Monday, September 12, 2005

AricChen.jpgFar be it from us to complain if, in a moment of extreme, nigh-on masochistic boredom, we surf on over to the only part of the Newsletter occasionally worth reading and discover, jeepers, that their resident nattering nabob of architectural negativism—the so-called "world's first" if not (sucks for them) the only—has started his own blind item franchise. You know how we feel about imitation. And we don't particularly care "which wet-brained New York architect...recently proved his hard-drinking reputation at an architecture benefit" by passing out and blocking the door (um, all of them??). We came to shower praise on the competition. Because we're cut from the good cloth. And that's how we roll. In an otherwise meandering update on the SCI-Arc follies, Eavesdrop captured the school's permtastic director, Eric Owen Moss, at his most awesome:

This is scurrilous shit you’re doing,” Moss shouted when we contacted him, before befuddling us with an abrupt tirade about George W. Bush, John Ashcroft, and McCarthyism when we declined to reveal our sources. “If you’re not ashamed of yourself, I’m ashamed for you,” he added.

We'll close the circle: shame all around.
