Some 'snipers just can't stop the love:

I sure do hate to beat this fatally wounded horse, but some months ago the Times reported psychotically ambitious plans for a $75 million dollar bunker under the back yard at Cooper-Hewitt. And a design competition for same!

I have it on good authority that the whole misguided plan has indeed collapsed, yet another casualty of the financial mismanagement of the place.

None of this comes as a surprise when you learn that the museum's ongoing renovations of the measly public spaces in the basement, mostly the bathrooms, is only about a year behind schedule.
