Gutterland Police Blotter: If the Rectangles Don't Fit You Must Acquit
Thursday, October 6, 2005

0616justice173.jpgMore superheated discussion of whether SHoP owes an apology to some random Germans for using lit-up rectangles. Teddy G brings the battle back to Gregg:

Dear Guttersniper,

Not to put too fine a point on it, but it’s pretty obvious that while Anni Albers’ and Ellsworth Kelly’s rectangles are elongated indeed, and are certainly staggering; they are, by no standard of rationalization (unless one experiences the world-at-large exclusively through a wide-screen-monitor), electroluminescent. Which is kinda the whole point of this particular building exercise or, Gebäudeübung. Wouldn’t ‘ya say?

Theodore Grunewald

Totally. Totally Gebäudeübung. The most.
