Yesterday, in a fit of haste and half-braised humor, we posted the news that Adi Shamir has taken over at the Van Alen Institute. Never have we been more psyched to be more wrong. Begone, tedious future evenings trapped in the mid-opening or after-lecture conversational clutches of an unattractive Israeli cryptographer. We don't care (no, we never did) about TWIRL and TWINKLE. But that is exactly what the bone-white dust that fills the calloused cavity that passes for our heart does this suddenly fine, fine morning. Enter...paradise, blinding sun and a hint of henna, the lime-soft waters of Ein Gedi, the procreative powers of all Judea in her loins. Meet Adi Shamir. Our Adi, if we may be so bold. And we feel we may. For the stones of Petra were young and red when our love for you first reared.
