Can you feel the piety? The remembrance? The pathos? Or does it, rather, remind you that you're late for that 3:10 huddle with your buds in Accounts Receivable? Are your deliverables in order? Are you on the same page? Today, Friends, we all rejoice at the formal start of construction of the 9/11 memorial at Ground Zero. All, that is, except for those for whom the thing will be built—starting today! Not the victims, who are dead, but their survivors, who are, naturally, holding a 24-hour vigil across the street to stop this vision of leafy corporate lunchtime from arising to disgrace what they persist in believing is holy ground.
