We were so taken with the photo of a post-op Liz that we neglected to read the accompanying Timesian caption. Luckily, our Readers keep us on task:

Thought it was interesting that the Times reports that "[a]ccording to statistics, most marriages fail. Elizabeth Diller and Ricardo Scofidio have not only defied matrimonial expectation, but they have also become one of the most successful architecture teams." 

While that is a true statement, it neglects the fact that Ric was Liz's professor at Cooper, they began canoodling together, he left his wife, married her and the rest is history.  I'm pretty sure this is common knowledge, but had to throw it out there.

Common knowledge, yes. But the formula for a happy Relationship is a precious thing. And The Gutter is happy to post a reminder.
