March proving too leonine for extended air travel, we were forced to skip our monthly jaunt across the pond to pick up the latest British mags. Which makes us only too grateful to a dear (and foreign??) Reader for sending us in the virtual direction of Icon's April issue:

Architecture for Humanity director Cameron Sinclair is on the shortlist for the Design Museum's Designer of the year award. Not everyone is a fan of Sinclair, however. Scurrilous architecture gossip site The Gutter has long had a beef with him, waging a campaign against his do-gooding under the slogan 'He gives a damn so we don't have to.' And we know what they mean: here is the nauseating opening paragraph of a recent Washington Post feature on him: 'It's not easy being the Bob Geldof of architecture. But Cameron Sinclair is doing his best to save the world, one emergency shelter and mobile AIDS clinic at a time.'

Smell that? That's power, baby.

Which married Cameron Sinclair is known to enjoy his many visits to "lecture" at college campuses to then have trysts with young females that he meets at schools of architecture? His Architecture for Humanity bullshit is a cover for the self-aggrandizing prick that he is.

let's hope the 'cut n'paste reader comments' destroy his 7 year marriage. rumor has it that his first fiance died of leukemia -- sounds like he can't keep his women. ha,ha...

i wonder who will show at his next talk : the wife, the dead fiance or a certain iraqi prize winner...

I'm tired of seeing his pasty bloated face on your site. He needs a LizDiller extreme makeover. I don't know him personally like #1 or #2 do, but his writing alone makes him sound like an asshole of the Kroloff ilk.

Lockhart, how I've missed the jabs. Are you also the anonymous emailer who sends me these links? Regardless, Marcus and I had a good laugh at your expense.

As for the post by nauseated reader, had you read the thread properly the article in question was written by Washington Posts' Linda Hales not myself - and it was an ironic quote in regard to an article by the NYTimes in 2003. Lockhart, i mean gutter, was puffing his chest out for getting a mention in a magazine in the UK. The only articles I've written have been for ID magazine on student led conferences and for Worth magazine on self-help housing in humanitarian relief efforts. but nonetheless thanks for calling me an asshole.

Lock, even the readers are getting bored of the self-referential threads. (noting that 6 of the 7 links are to yourself.) it is also nice to see the reader comments are as respectful as ever.

As anyone can see in his commentary, Cameron is a self-righteous prick. I know from working with him at Gensler......before he was fired.
