Breaking: Arad to Hold Bake Sale for 9/11 Memorial
Thursday, May 4, 2006

mikeysgrrls2.jpgJust when all the stars were in a row at the Pit of Insanity, along comes Michael Bloomberg, making trouble. And what trouble has our good mayor made? Snipergrams are coming in fast and furious: at his budget address moments ago, Mayor Mike announced that he and the Governor have decided to cap the out-of-control budget for Michael Arad's 9/11 memorial at $500 million. That's a measly half bil to us and you. Is nothing sacred?

UPDATE: Feel the quiet panic in this press release just released to the press by the WTCMF, reproduced here in full:

STATEMENT FROM GRETCHEN DYKSTRA, WTC MEMORIAL FOUNDATION PRESIDENT AND CEO, REGARDING MAYOR MICHAEL BLOOMBERG’S COMMENTS ON WTC MEMORIAL AND MUSEUM

“The Foundation is delighted that conversations are happening between the Mayor and the Governors of New York and New Jersey and looks forward to further clarification of the statements made today.”

C'mon. Let's all buy a cobblestone and help out....
