Next at Ground Zero: Freedom Tower 4.0! Wednesday, June 14, 2006
Here we go again. You may recall how Freedom Tower 1.0 faded, was melded with (1.1) and then disappeared into Freedom Tower 2.0—which actually had, by the standards of The Pit, quite a long life—before Freedom Tower 3.0, that great Childsian pylon, rose in its presumptive place last summer. Children, heed the ur-casual maunderings of the Port: Port Authority Chairman Anthony Coscia made it clear today that the future of the highly symbolic Freedom Tower is in doubt if enough federal agencies don't commit to office space inside. Scaled back, but still at 1,776 feet? Might that be Danny's last legacy lost? · Federal Agencies Needed for Freedom Tower [Crain's] Reader Comments (8 extant) 1. When the heck are they going to rebuild the skyline new york once had???? now theyre talking about shortening the Freedom Tower and adding another mistake to the list. Unbelievable! By Arggggh at June 14, 2006 12:59 PM2. this guy is talking out of his ass. he should've been stuffing himself with more shrimp cocktail. plenty of spec office towers have been built in this city without leases in place, and 3.0 will be built as well. why does everybody have to put in their two cents with this issue? By bs at June 14, 2006 1:05 PM3. david? that you? By federline at June 14, 2006 1:38 PM4.
